JANUARY. 12, 2004
The meeting was called to order at 19:20 hrs. by Treasurer Barry Fegarty. Secretary Bill Bell read the minutes of the Dec. 8, 2003 meeting. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Ed Gresik and seconded by Norm Long. Motion Carried.
Treasurer's Report:
The Treasurer's report was presented by Barry Fegarty A motion to accept the report was made by Jim Helkie and seconded by Ed Gresik. Motion Carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
Treasurer Barry Fegarty outlined the club's approach for a presentation to the Trillium Foundation as a possible revenue source. This revenue would be used for 5 kits, equipment and spares to do with school field trips and school plane building programs. At present members use their own planes equipment and fuel. An application was sent to the Trillium Foundation on 17/12/03. They have indicated that more information is required. The deadline is 23/02/04.
Ed Gresik gave a brief report on the building/flying program in the schools, Dec. 10/03 and Jan 07/04. It was a great success with students, teachers and volunteers all learning a great deal.
More volunteers are needed.
It was announced again that meetings will be automatically cancelled if the weather is stormy or "iffy".
A swap meet has been scheduled for the February 9, 2004 meeting.
John McIntosh suggested more social activities be held at the field, such as Combat Flying etc. A $2.00 entrance fee could be charged to participate.
A motion to close the meeting was moved by Ed Gresik and seconded by Bob Axford. Motion carried. The meeting was closed at 19:45 hrs. by Treasurer Barry Fegarty.
